they showed us 9/11 live in schools on the 'tv-on-wheels" in schools in europe

hello everyone. for quite a while now i have been thinking about where i was when "9/11" happened.

im a european, swedish. i must have been in 6th or 7th grade at the time (NO THATS NOT A EFFIHNG 6-7 joke i promise!). i disticthly remember being a young kid and our teachers had wheeled out the big TV on wheels ( the one all the 90'sd/00's kids remember) and showed us the live feeds from the news. i remember seeing the smoking towers and the towers falling. i remember our female teachers (really old gray haired menopausal ladies to be accurate) and they were all gasping and whispering to eachother as we all watched this.

the reasopn im making this post is that it feels pretty effed up to me in hindsight that they showed middle school kids this. im pretty suire it created some sort of subtle trauma in me. whoi trhe hell decided that this terrorist attack was something to show swedish middle aged kids? someone or multiple people screwed up and created generational trauma for swedish kids at the time.
