1 million bribe

Can someone hear me out, who doesn’t the captain take the 1 million betting on them being able to reimburse it in a group voting game to everyone? Is that not a smart move or does it just seem like it wouldn’t work. It would give them leverage as it’s not a case of some have more then others it’s all vs nothing and this late in the game there probably wouldn’t be much more bribes so people would play more for money so I think nick would get voted in.
