The video was produced by the seller of the property, Harvest Bible Chapel, which I understand is still around in the area. I researched the situation and it seems the church’s founding pastor of 30 plus years was forced out and attendance can no longer afford the debt service and operating cost of the large campus.

Ed Kang said he settled on Chicago as the headquarter location so people can have shorter flights coming in. I know some A2N staff have came on to say A2N will be more decentralized and autonomous going forward. This move certainly doesn’t sound like going towards decentralization, but doubling down on the hierarchical structure.

The fact that property took 5+ years to sell (since 2019) is also interesting. I just thought the real estate agent and loan person (all made bank I am sure on a $29.5 million property) were attributing to God for something that might not be too much about God? It would be a miracle if any property unsold on the market for five years got sold. Whether that miracle is an act from God is another matter. It won’t be easy finding a buyer if and when Ed Kang decides to sell the property.

The local population and demographics don’t seem to be the target demographics of A2N. Alameda was the location because of UC Berkeley. Not sure about the Elgin location. Can current members chime in on how many hundreds of people relocated to Elgin from California? 300? 500? More?
