Worst Debate In the Podcast's History?
I apologize if I'm being too harsh. I just can't stand people like Def. There's not a genuine bone in his body. He has a long history of grifting different identities, weaseling his way out of accountability and confrontation every chance he gets. He's a fraud and a pathological liar.
To my disappointment, Ethan did not bring the heat Def deserves. The topics he focused on, how he presented them, and the amount of grace he offered Def felt so shortsided. So much focus on him faking his age-- but failing to capitalize on the point. He didn't just lie about his age, with or without the advice of an agent-- HE FAKED WHO HE WAS. He lied about his own identity and beliefs. Def has, on multiple occasions over the years, mass-deleted/delisted content when he wants to do a rebrand. This new "identity" is just one of many.
Def is a man who will do ANYTHING to get attention. He went on the pod to platform himself. And in my eyes, that's what he's walking away with: attention, not more scrutiny.
If his latest grift fails, he's bound to repeat the same pattern of disappearing for a while, only to come back and say, "It was just a character, guys." Let's be real, though, the conservative grift works. They eat that shi* up. Maybe this really is Def's final form. 🤷♂️
