Visiting London in the Summer for a Class, any suggestions of places to visit or tips?

So, I'll be visiting London for the first time this summer for a class that my School is providing. It is a History of Britain class so we'll be visiting a few historical sites there. But I'll also have some free time to faff about about the city.

I do like my history, but are there any other places that you all would recommend visiting? I guess I should mention that I'm a 34M if that helps you narrow down some places that I might like to visit. Feel free to ask questions if it helps too.

Also I gave this the casual tag because I enjoy silly answers, but I would appreciate it if you could make those obvious, just in case I miss joke. I'll also give the London subreddit an ask after this, just in case.
