is anyone else here obsessed with characters who are doomed by the narrative?

idk i just kinda realized that all the characters i get obsessed with are characters who were failed by their plot in some way. they dont ever get happy endings, and they are often not very good people, but they never get a shot at happiness anyway, even when other characters, including worse ones, do. i suppose i find them relatable cuz i feel like i was doomed from the start too. its comforting yet heartbreaking in a way, i feel like i can relate to them, only for them to be killed off. but at least i can find comfort in them.
