Managed to snatch the first series (1980?) '63 split window Corvette.

Not a simple task here in Poland because... erm... Iron Curtain, economic crisis and martial law in early 80s made this car pretty much impossible to get (even more than meat, milk, butter, sugar and toilet paper back then). The majority of the Western die cast we have from that time is either post-1989 private import or gifts from family members who managed to get to the West. 40 years have passed since then and I'd say today this car is even rarer.

The Corvette wasn't pretty (added some photos from before disassembly): Wheels worn and bent in all directions; glass dirty to the point that I couldn't see if there's anything inside; tampo almost gone; clear coat chipped and scratched; exposed zamac oxidized - the metal base in particular.
Disassembled the car, cleaned the glass (you'd be surprised what toothpaste can do), wiped the metal pieces and decided to check some wheels to see if I have something that would actually fit. Turns out I don't but this set is pretty close and it also looks so cool that I decided to share some photos with you. It's the first time I'm showing WIP in its very early stages but there's so much work with this car that I don't know when I'm going to finish this project.

This Vette has so much potential
