Thoughts on the podcast?
I just watched the whole thing and loved the ending where they showed the performance! I’ve only seen clips online from the shows but to see the whole stage it looked amazing. But also very small and he is actually pretty far away from stage (it looks so close on the videos all zoomed in). Very nicely done with the cameras and drone!
Alex is not the best interviewer but I enjoyed her more than last time and she did ask some nice personal questions. More importantly, he seemed comfortable in opening up which made for a nice conversation between the two of them. I do think questions were pre-discussed or vetted.
What were your favorite parts?
- I laughed at the tooth fairy part (but also shaking my head at the 500 bucks or whatever it was. Not normal 😂)
- also laughing at his comment of not wanting to go on “playdates” with other famous people
- the question about the “hope you didn’t pay too much for your tickets” felt a bit like he knew she was gonna ask that and she knew she couldn’t ask more. He cheekily vaguely answered really quickly and she was just like; fair and moved on. Any other interviewer would have said; but were you talking about Harry? Or; do you know how high your prices were? Do you think artists should speak up about it? Etc etc. Like sometimes I wish she would have elaborated a bit further.
- also noticed how aside from “the band” there was zero mention of any of them. She could have brought up the Netflix doc. But it was like 1d was off limits. (Which is fine, it just stood out to me)
- she prodded quite a few times and while he said that he’s not dating, the way she sort of came back to it a couple times (the “looking at you sideways” comment and dating apps) I almost felt like either she knew something or was just fishing cause she wasn’t allowed to ask anything further
- his silence and shrugs when she was like; so you don’t date but you text? You talk? And then his vague comment; I have a few friends. Like, what 😂
-he seemed very mature in the way he talked about (past) relationships and himself, the future and wanting more kids
-also: the farm, the animals (the girls lol), the gardening, the woodworking. It was nice to hear him talk about all that.
-cannot wait for the album! The way he explained he did drums with his vocals, very cool
-him saying he doesn’t have social media on his phone and lets his manager or assistant post things… I do wonder because his reactions to things sometimes look like he is lurking (Im thinking he might not have it on his phone but he’ll just use an ipad or laptop 😜)
I’m forgetting a lot but I enjoyed the interview!
