New DM; Tips pls

Hi!! So, I'm a baby DM about to embark on my first one-shot [ homebrew but based on the mechanics of DND 5e ]; this one-shot does have the possibility of turning into a small campaign.

Do y'all have any tips for a baby DM?? Things I need 100% [I've got cheat sheets & dice & and initiative tracker!!], any tips for keeping the storyline progressing & not letting my players get tooooo hung up, etc??

Also, if any of y'all have experience with doing dnd long distance, what's your preferred method of video or voice format? Thanks in advance, super EXCITED!!!
