IHSS is a Scam
Hello, I could just be venting about how I simply hate IHSS and see how they will pick and choose on what they will give you for services for your loved one.
Back story, I have two daughters that of course have learn Delys and one is level two autism and the other is Level three. I have been with IHSS for about 5 years and when I say I started at the bottom only receiving 9 hrs. a month, up to date 58 hrs. current day.
I started on my journey to try and receive PS three years ago (we are now on our third appeal and still waiting for judge orders since 10/2025) IT's been one thing after one thing with all paperwork and in home visits.
The first worker came to our home in 2023/2024, and she approved that my daughter should receive PS, but was terminated before they can put the hours in effect. So, then the second worker went took over and denied us because she said " the child was marker moderate but have danger issues, but she doesn't approve unless it's marked all the way down serve.
Ok next year 2025 she came out to the house that year and she then decided she would approve my daughter after meeting with my daughter and seeing that her memory was the main focus. I also let her know about now new updates about medical as well and requested travel time, that was granted but her manager disagreed and said that she didn't feel my daughter needed PS and that she could get more hours but not PS. So, know up to date, we are waiting to hear from the appeal judge when hearing was in 10/2025 and still no verdict.
I say all this for back story and yes, I could list all the crazy stuff my 7-year-old have done, but you will need a week to look at the paperwork or more.
I say this to say, If IHSS is to keep the loved one safe in the home, why must we go through a true struggle to prove that for our loved ones. I hope we will get approved soon, but if some reason she isn't approved I'm leave IHSS alone, they are a mess and they truly don't care about the safety of our loved ones, they only care on helping who they won't and not the needs for the loved ones.
