Restaurant rescinded CC/Debit surcharge after complain

A restaurant we visit every week began charging a Cash and Non-Cash (3% markup) price. I took my debit card the next week and was charged the Non-Cash price. I reported them to MC/Visa and this week there was no credit/debit surcharge or separate prices. I wonder if they got their hand slapped. I love it since Chase Q1 is 5% back on restaurants!
