“Choked” on a pill and now I can’t take medicine that I need to take

Medication

Hello! A few weeks ago I tried to take a large pill and it ended up getting “stuck” in my throat. I tried to swallow several times and it wouldn’t budge. I then panicked and tried to spit it up and could only get the water out. This all happened at work and coworkers rushed over with all the thrashing around and it was super scary. I realized I could breath so it wasn’t in my esophagus but after that my throat was really sore for a while. Somehow I ended up being able to take my normal pills still. However two nights ago, a small pill got stuck (throat clamping) (I’ve been super stressed with work, SAD, anxiety, busted tire due to pothole, post nasal drip, GERD, important documents due, low on money, etc.) but I was able to get it down and now I haven’t been able to take my important anxiety meds and I think its making the whole situation worse. These pills are small and so it should be no problem but my brain won’t let me swallow them… I clamp down on it in my mouth and just won’t let it go down because I’m afraid I’ll choke. I was able to distract myself before when I had issues swallowing but now it’s not working. Please help me figure out how to get my meds down
