Apparently My Outfits Are Just My Personality Asking for Approval
So they say the way you dress reflects your personality.
If that’s true, I must be emotionally unstable in HD.
One day I’m dressed like I’m meeting my parole officer. Next day I look like I accidentally joined a low-budget music video.
No theme. No brand. No consistency. No mercy. Just vibes and unresolved issues.
I tell people I dress for comfort. Which is true. Emotionally? No. Physically? Yes.
Because underneath these soft fabrics is a woman desperately hoping a stranger will think, “Wow… she’s holding it together better than I am.”
But let’s not lie to ourselves—comfort is just the foundation. The real goal?
✨Attention.✨
I dress hoping for: • A glance • A double-take • Someone whispering “damn” under their breath • Or at minimum, a confused stare
I don’t walk on sidewalks. I perform on them.
And I will strut past strangers like Tyra Banks is about to pop out from behind a Kia and yell, “I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU.”
Every crosswalk is a runway. Every grocery store trip is me auditioning for “Hot Mess: The Series.”
I make eye contact like: “Validate me. Heal me.”
Will I remember their names? No. Will they remember me? Also no. Will I replay the one compliment for six years? Absolutely!
So yes, I dress for comfort. But I also dress for the imaginary audience in my head.
And honestly? They’re very hard to impress.
