Negan lost his longtime buddy Rick in Fall 2025. We vacillated over bringing in new rats since Negan is over 2 years old and has had aggression issues prior to us taking him in (though we had him and Rick neutered in an effort to address this issue when we adopted them).

We found the two adorable silver coat, ruby-eyed baby boys you see here from the phenomenal Philly Rat Rescue. We did not intend on taking in any new boys but when they didn’t have females available, we figured we’d give it a go. And fortunately, intros have been going smoothly.

We finally landed on names today - Abraham is the standard ear babe and has a white belly. He’s more adventurous and loves to wrestle. Eugene is our little fully silver dumbo with curly whiskers. He is a bit more shy, but still a sweet social boy.

Negan has been soooooooo good with them. And we were worried he wasn’t gonna be happy sharing his home (and food because hims a chonker). But they immediately seemed to take to one another, curling up and sleeping together the first night. We will be housing them together at the end of the week.

Welcome Abraham and Eugene! You are so loved already💕
