Is weed legal in Thailand? How about the islands Koh Samui etc?

Hi I’m travelling to Thailand in a few months, specifically Koh Samui and was curious about the weed laws and are there still shops open or is it easy or difficult to get your hands on some weed? I read something about Thailand having weed shops and or they have closed everything so I’m not really sure… anyone any experience?
