Starting Invisalign soon and wanted to share what I learned from my consult

Treatment Start

So I just had my Invisalign consult last week and figured I’d share a bit for anyone else in the “research phase.” I went to Limestone Hills Orthodontics in Austin after reading a few local recs, and honestly the experience was way more relaxed than I expected. Dr. Rodrigo Viecilli was super honest about what Invisalign could and couldn’t fix for my specific case (mild crowding + a bite issue).

He did a full 3D scan instead of impressions, which was way less gross tbh, and showed me a digital simulation of how my teeth might shift week by week. I appreciated that they didn’t try to “sell” me on it he said in some cases braces still work faster, but Invisalign would be fine for me if I’m diligent. The removable aligners part is obviously appealing, but I’m a little nervous about remembering to put them back after meals and coffee breaks lol. He mentioned that most of his patients there finish anywhere from 12–18 months depending on compliance, which seems pretty standard from what I’ve seen on this sub.

Has anyone here ever had trouble with attachments staining or wearing out faster than expected?

That’s one thing I forgot to ask about. Anyway, if you’re in Austin and considering getting Invisalign, I’d honestly recommend getting a consult somewhere like Limestone Hills just to at least see your 3D X Ray. Even if you don’t follow through, it’s kinda cool to visualize the process.

How many of you are mid-treatment and feeling like it’s actually working as predicted?
