[Groovers x Shakers] A scene of idioms

PinnedGroovers x Shakers

🎛 Groovers x Shakers – Creative Challenge

I’ve had a spark of inspiration for our experimental playground, Groovers x Shakers. I was genuinely delighted (and a little surprised!) with the result from my first attempt, so I’m hoping this prompt leads you somewhere just as unexpected and fun.

The Concept

We’re going to smash together two musical worlds—different cities, different decades—and then hang the lyrics on a completely random idiom. Think of it as musical time travel with a narrative hook.

Step 1 – Discover Your Two Scenes

Spin the wheels below twice each:

Example:

I landed on Seattle 1970s for my first spin and Berlin 1960s for my second.

Step 2 – Build Your Style Prompt

In your music generator, combine the results like this:

Format:
(city) (decade) music scene crossed with (city) (decade) music scene

Example:

Seattle 1970s music scene crossed with Berlin 1960s music scene

You can keep it simple—or expand the vibe with extra descriptors or Suno’s Style Boost.

Here’s what the boost suggested for me:

Fusing gritty, overdriven guitar riffs and dense live drums from the Seattle 1970s sound with hypnotic organ, analog synths, and motorik rhythms reminiscent of Berlin 1960s underground. Moody bass lines support layered textures, while sharp guitar stabs and swirling reverb generate tension and a subtle psychedelic edge. The arrangement alternates distorted, atmospheric verses with groove-driven instrumental breaks, fueled by raw energy and experimental flair.

Step 3 – Add a Lyrical Hook

Now give your track a theme using a random idiom:

Example:

I got “Crying wolf.”

Use the idiom as a metaphor, chorus line, or conceptual anchor—however it speaks to you.

Optional Inspiration

If you want more narrative fuel, look up:

  • Major events in either city during your chosen decades
  • Cultural movements, protests, or local legends
  • Iconic venues or forgotten subcultures

Let history nudge your imagination.

That’s It!

No rules beyond the recipe above—lean into the weird contrasts and see what happens.
I can’t wait to hear what you brew up. 🎧🔥
