I can't play

Good afternoon everyone, I recently bought my first laptop, an Acer Nitro V15 with a 5050 graphics card. I've been wanting to play some games (Fallout 4 and Metro 2033 Redux), but the screen freezes while I'm playing and I can't even exit the game. I'd like to know if anyone else is experiencing this or what the problem might be. Could the laptop have a defect or is it the graphics card?
