The End of Genshin. Full Hroptatyr plan: the true writer of Genshin Impact. [CHAPTER 3] FINALE

SpoilerSinner

Have you ever wondered... who is behind everything?

Hello one last time! This will be the last chapter of a 3 post group of theories involving Hroptatyr and Vedrfolnir, talking about their plans to the future after defining their relevance in past and present.

We will enter in detail in their plan to create a god who can trascend reason and abyss, and reset the universe into its ¨true¨ form. If u are interested in the other chapters, here they are!

CHAPTER 1: VEDRFOLNIR, HROPTATYR, AND KEY CONCEPTS

CHAPTER 2: THE PLAN UP TO PRESENT DAY

CHAPTER 3: THE FUTURE AND MESSAGE BEHIND GENSHIN IMPACT

And also as a little way of resuming this chapter, we will talk about these points:

  • The creation of a god
  • Vedrfolnir and the Abyss order, the importance of the Loom of Fate: the dream
  • The absorbtion of the sinners and capturing our sibling + predictions
  • The coronation of Hroptatyr: the ruler beyond reason and the reset of the universe
  • THE MESSAGE BEHIND GENSHIN IMPACT
    • The final villain of the game: a human
    • Why Hroptatyr and not Vedrfolnir?

So without further adue, let's start this finishing post!

THE CREATION OF A GOD

Abyss (the purple one: ¨truth¨, explained in chapter 1) imitates reason. Reality that hasn't been created, the realm of abyss, nothingness, yearns to be created.

Truth lacks the power to create, it imitates the craft of reason. For abyss to physically exist it needs to be restricted out of its infinity, and such restrictions are copies of creation's. That is how the purple abyss manifest itself for us to perceive it.

In chapter 1, I already explained how the purple abyss is not ¨pure¨ abyss but the result of mixing pure abyss (red, the power of destruction) and reason (blue, the power of creation). Upon destroying/erasing reality, we can get this purple abyss, this ¨truth¨.

The pure and real abyss is red, the eraser. Reason is blue, the writting pen. The purple abyss is the blank book reason needs to write in. The purple abyss is not abyss itself but the truth of this world. An unrestricted and boundless world, filled with unlimited posibilities and knowledge.

In Kaenriah people venerated this ¨truth¨, this purple abyss, and thought that everything could be imitated, even the gods, even the writer of the story.

Chaos Bolt, ruin drakes drops: The decaying order of the world could be imitated

The creation of an artificial god is a recurrent topic in the game.

The most important examples are Shouko no Kami and the ongoing experiment with the Heretic of the False Moon, but there were other attempts to create such god.

Shouko no kami set an example of what the ideal experiment would consist on, and also, alongside with the Sumeru AQ, foreshadowed the whole Genshin plot.

The ingredients to make a god were already explained in chapter 2 but let's resume them quickly in the context of Shouko no Kami:

  1. Divine knowledge: electro gnosis (reason-blue)
  2. Forbidden knowledge: divine knowledge capsule (abyss-red: seen when Alhaitham gets driven mad using it and also during the fight against Shouko no Kami)
  3. A body capable of hosting both: the puppet Scaramouche + the mech of Shouko no Kami
  4. People's beliefs: the dreams of Sumeru's people trapped in the Sabzeruz Festival (adoration to the archon authority)

If we check this recipe and apply it to the Heretic of the False moon then Dottore's plans get revealed (also explained in chapter 2):

  • Dottore would obtain the power of reason from the moons, the body by using a segment which can't be driven mad by knowledge, and then?
  • Dottore will retrieve Rerir's abyss powers using his authority over reason to enter and exit the moon's reflection and fake his defeat so Columbina can be seen as ¨the True Moon Goddess¨, to harvest people's beliefs inside the simulation we are currently trapped in.

Hroptatyr would've also played the role of making the Hexenzirkel think he was the one meant to grant abyssal power to Dottore while trying to break into Teyvat with the help of Asmoday, causing the crisis in the frontiers. This relation of the sinner and the plans of the Fatui is further explained in chapter 2.

But then, speaking now of Hroptatyr, the main villain of the game, how would he make his own artificial god?

Let's start with one of the most important steps and the one who involves the indirect help of Vedrfolnir:

PEOPLE'S BELIEFS: THE LOOM OF FATE + ABYSS ORDER

The strenght of the faith the people have put on their gods is one of the main sources of power for such deities.

Here is were the Abyss Order plays its role inside Hroptatyr's plan. An organization created by Clothar Alberich after being inspired by Vedrfolnir.

They have already tried multiple times to create an artificial god. The easiest example to explain is the inverted statue we see in the first Dainsleif quest.

  • Divine power from the statue + infused abyssal power + a vessel impossible to be driven mad (a statue) + the beliefs of the treasure hoarder.

Notice how also Vedrfolnir's crystal is highly venerated by everyone who comes close except the traveler.

People's faith is the last ingredient

The importance of the Abyss Order lies in the 4th ingredient. Their plans of acquiring the Loom of Fate are just an excuse for Vedrfolnir's real interests to help Hroptatyr become a god himself.

If Hroptatyr wants to create a god that surpasses reason and abyss to become the new writer of the universe so he can plunge it into ¨truth¨ (his goals are further explained in chapter 1), then he would need someone who believes in this ¨truth¨.

People who believe or who believed that the purple abyss was divine and would solve their problems. Can you see where I'm going?

Let's remember the goal of the abyss sibling.

The abyss sibling, leading the Abyss Order, has already declared their intentions. Write Kaenriah back using the Loom of Fate, a tool capable of creating new ley lines.

In chapter 1, we already talked about ¨rewritting the story¨ being posible if someone had harnessed both abyss and reason. With the power of abyss (destruction), someone could create blank spaces inside of a story by erasing what was already written, then using the power of reason (creation) could write a new story.

However the Loom of Fate operates as reason does, it doesn't have the ability to erase already existing story:

  • IMPORTANT: Then the only way to ¨rewrite¨ a story using the Loom of Fate is ¨making a sequel¨ to take advantages of possible plotholes in the past.

In a sequel the author can determine things from a past book that were left hanging.

For example, inside these posts you are reading now, it is mentioned frequently how some ideas will be explained in posterior chapters. Chapter 2 makes the story of chapter 1 complete and different, and chapter 3 does the same for chapters 2 and 1.

Something like a Genshin 2. Not a new chapter, but a new book. An expansion of the Irminsul made by a different writer than the HP.

One that could bring Kaenriah back so the abyss sibling achieves their goal of ¨rewriting fate¨. The linear nature of time is respected. Fate and causality are respected. That would be the reason why in the trailer of the Genshin Kaenriahn chapter is glitchy, because it is a new story rather than a chapter.

New Kaenriah will be the dream made by the prince/princess of abyss

But the thing is, Vedrfolnir, who inspired Clothar Alberich to create the Abyss Order, was aware of the future. Then what would be his interest on making New Kaenriah, the ultimate goal of the Abyss Order? Rewriting fate? No. Vedrfolnir wants to destroy fate, not to play with it and make new plotlines (explained in chapter 1).

  • VERY IMPORTANT: New Kaenriah will be the Sabzeruz Festival of Genshin Impact.

If we remember what we said in chapter 2, we talked about the central characters of Genshin's stories: a hero, an evil dragon, a knight, a princess/prince and a wicked mage.

  • Their story seems to repeat with different characters.
  • The knight faces the evil dragon, who was never truly evil but controlled by the wicked mage.
  • The hero is the one in charge of defeating the mage, the real villain.
  • The fight beetweent the knight and the dragon comes before facing the mage.
  • And the princess/prince is usually used by the mage to achieve their goals.

KEY POINT: Let's compare Sumeru's, Nod-Krai's and Genshin's story:

-The hero: the traveler for the 3

-The evil dragon: Scaramouche for Sumeru, Rerir for Nod-Krai, Nibelung for Genshin

-The knight: Nahida for Sumeru, Columbina for Nod-Krai, the Heavenly Principles for Genshin

-The wicked mage: Dottore for both Sumeru and Nod-Krai, Hroptatyr for Genshin

-The prince/princess: Nilou for Sumeru, undetermined for Nod-Krai (maybe Sandrone), the abyss sibling for Genshin

The conclusion is irrefutable. The pattern is clear.

The prince/princess is the hardest to ubicate but since Nilou was the origin of the Samsara in the Sumeru AQ, then we can assume that the origin/simulation to create a god is the prince/princess.

VERY IMPORTANT: Our sibling, who is also literally called the prince/princess of the abyss, will play this role in the story. They will be the origin of Genshin's Sabzeruz Festival

Our sibling wants to create New Kaenriah, they will succeed, and start the ¨simulation¨ for Hroptatyr and Vedrfolnir to gather the beliefs of Kaenriahns in the purple abyss, ¨truth¨.

Note: For Nod-Krai, the prince/princess is still unknown. Maybe Dottore knew about Sandrone's formula and used it to start the simulation, so Sandrone would be the princess. We will see it soon.

The Loom of Fate, while it operates like reason does, is not a source of divine power. The Loom of Fate's role inside the plan for Hroptatyr's ascension is to weave the dream, not to grant him divine power.

FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE/POWER OF THE ABYSS: THE ABSORBTION OF THE SINNERS + PREDICTIONS

Now that we already have established the 4th ingredient, let's theorize about the abyssal and the body ingredients.

About the abyssal powers, we have already established in previous chapters why it's very likely that Hroptatyr's plan is to gather the combined power of the 5 sinners. Let's enforce this theory:

- In the quest: ¨A Space and Time for You¨, it is implied that the power the sibling held, the one that the sinners stole, could be equivalent to the full power of a descender.

We had theorized in chapter 2 that Hroptatyr and Irmin were the ones who made our ship to forcefully crash into Teyvat to capture one of the twins. In that chapter, we also provided direct proof of Hroptatyr being the one who killed Irmin and divided the abyssal powers.

That was his plan from the start:

VERY IMPORTANT: Capture our twin, revoke their status as a descender so they could absorb unlimited amounts of abyssal energy, wait for the night of the cataclysm, which he knew would happen thanks to Vedrfolnir, kill Irmin and divide the powers so noone is driven mad by the abyss aswell as having 5 independant individuals growing on power over time so that he could have back up plans (multiple sinners) to get the abyssal energy from, aswell as being less ¨detectable¨ for Celestia.

Our sibling was crucial and also, the first step of the plan.

He would already have the abyssal and the body ingredient solved thanks to them. There was no need to absorb all the power from the abyss for himself back then.

The same way Dottore only used the power of the moons agaisnt us in Luna IV even tho he could theoretically access the power of Rerir using reason, because there was simply no need to get the power of Rerir yet, not until the rest of the ingredients are prepared.

For Dottore, the last ingredient is people's faith.

  • Dottore revived Rerir and let him chase his own goals, so that in the future when all the ingredients to make his artificial god were ready, he would go for the power of the sinner.
  • Hroptatyr did the same. When the dream of New Kaenriah is ready, he will start moving to gather the power of the sinners. Both Dottore and Hroptatyr are just ¨harvesting the fruits of the seeds they planted long ago¨.

One visual detail that can help us enforce this theory of Hroptatyr absorbing the sinners is in the chess pieces in Rerir's flashback. These pieces have distinctive details that match the story of each sinner.

THEIR PIECES:

  • For Rerir it's a wolf howling at the moon: the senseless search for Tholindis and his obsession with the moon
  • For Surtalogi it's his sword set on stone: his desire to go down facing a worthy oponent
  • For Rhinedottir it's a golden unicorn: animal who represents life and purity, her desire to create the perfect form of life
  • For Vedfrolnir it's a snake that eats itself curling around a golden star: Vedrfolnir is the snake, the star is fate. It probably represents that the origin of Vedrfolnir's suffering is himself and himself alone. He would give his past self the power to see the future thinking it was needed for him to become the saviour he believes he currently is. A time paradox of suffering, fear and despair around the existance of fate. Maybe that is what the ¨blasphemy against time¨ is.
  • For Hroptatyr, it's a laughing mask with a golden crown: He laughs at fate and the stars. The crown is a direct symbol of his self-coronation. The 5 spiked crown is already seen ingame with the Iniquitous Baptist, said to have ascended beyond a normal abyss monster and developed multiple arms

The 5 spiked crown (the ¨gem on the middle¨ is highlighted) and the multiple arms are symbols of abyssal ascention

Now as we have already defined in chapter 1 red to be the representative colour of entropy=pure and red abyss, and also that this is precisely the ¨blasphemy agaisnt reason¨, then it's logic to think that the other 4 spikes around the central red gem represent the other ¨blasphemies¨, the power of each sinner (notice how 2 of the spikes are bigger than the rest, for space and time can exist without life and death).

And about the multiple arms, if we go back to the name of Hroptatyr's sword, Starkuthr, and remember the story of Starkad, we will notice that such norse character was said to have multiple arms too.

Shouko no Kami also presents this pattern.

Abyss imitates the craft of reason, then if the Heavenly Principles is said to have multiple wings, then abyss will try to imitate that concept by building a god with multiple arms instead of wings. I'd say it will be 6 arms, to be more precise, 2 from Hroptatyr then one from each sinner he had absorbed, yet this is just speculation.

Let's do some predicitions (NOT FACT BASED THEORIES, JUST PERSONAL SPECULATION) now based on what we know:

  • If we believe that Hroptatyr was the one helping Dottore in Nod-Krai and that Dottore will use Rerir's powers, then Hroptatyr would also be interested in the doctor's experiment seizing the power of the abyss from Rerir. 1/5 sinners would already be at Hroptatyr's disposition.
  • He would already have access to Vedrfolnir and his own power. That makes 3/5 sinners.
  • Surtalogi would surely be a problem unless... he was fated to be defeated. That's right. Vedrfolnir already prophetized the arrival of Surtalogi to Teyvat for a worthy battle agaisnt Skirk (and probably everyone in Teyvat), so either we somehow magane to defeat Surtalogi and Hroptatyr easily absorbs his power, or we are able to weaken him enough so Hroptatyr can absorb him anyways, meaning that Vedrfolnir's prophecy about Skirk defeating Surtalogi could talk about a ¨figurative¨ defeat. We know these prophecies often have plotholes too, so it wouldn't be crazy to suppose this. 4/5 sinners.
  • Rhinedottir would probably be the last sinner to fall. She is not being shown as a direct villain currently and she's even one of the shades, so maybe she will directly confront Hroptatyr being in our side in the far future. A perfect way of writting her if Hroptatyr truly is the one who corrupts her creatures (chapter 1). At the end, she faces the responsible of the failure of her creations. Maybe in a negotiation in the most Nahida-Dottore style, or maybe even in a direct battle. Afterall, these two have already been shown as paralels since Kaenriah, from the opposition beetween the Art of Khemia and the power of the abyss, and we pretty much know that even Rhinedottir who is considered apathic and unsensitive upon most stuff that happens because of her actions, despises Hroptatyr. If he wins, that would be 5/5 sinners.

DISCLAIMER AGAIN: this is mere speculation of what would make sense, there's no actual proof to sustain this.

THE BODY: ABYSS SIBLING

¨You shouldn't team up with this man (Dainsleif)... he is my enemy¨

Another theory we could make would be around the aspect of the body of the god.

We know thanks to Zibai in the latest Lantern Rite quest, that making segments of one self serves its purpose to purify the ego and the mind.

This could be a way of justifying the theory of Zandik being a segment of Hroptatyr, since the sinner would divide himself in different egos (the crows of Odin: theorized that one of them is Dottore in chapter 2) to make his body and mind perfect to hold such amounts of abyssal and divine energy.

However, since we are basically talking about the combined power of the sinners and fusing with the HP, maybe something more is needed than just ¨fragmenting and purifying¨ his consciousness.

The Shouko no Kami needed a complete mechanical body to help the puppet Scaramouche to hold all its power.

Then what could help him hold all that power? He already is aware that the perfect vessel exists, he's been aware of that since Kaenriah.

VERY IMPORTANT: The twin travelers are the perfect vessels for unlimited amounts of divine energy, but since our sibling is not a descender anymore and therefore they can't purify abyss (they lost their imagination, the power of logos, explained in chapter 2), then only them are capable of being a vessel both for divine and abyssal energy.

The theory would be then that our sibling would be captured and somehow forced to fuse with Hroptatyr to create the perfect body, as the mech of the Shouko no Kami did with Scaramouche.

In chapter 2, we theorized that Hroptatyr and Irmin wrote a story for the sibling using the code of the HP, therefore turning a descender into a character, but there would be another implication of this.

Our sibling's fate was writen by Hroptatyr, by the abyss, as Durin's fate was (explained in chapter 1).

The sibling states that they side with the abyss, not Abyss Order directly, and they are being observed by Asmoday who is, using our theories from chapter 2, serving Hroptatyr

The wicked mage captures the prince/princess (the abyss sibling ascending? would go against both Hroptatyr's character and the notion of the mage and the prince/princess).

The hero, the greatest enemy of the wicked mage, has now one duty. Stop the mage and save the prince/princess. Find our sibling, so we can meet again once more after the villain of the story is defeated. Figuratively, we would be fighting against our sibling.

DIVINE KNOWLEDGE/POWER OF REASON:

The last step of the plan and the one where we will have to stop Hroptatyr. The power of reason. Our power. The power of the Heavenly Principles. The power to create and to dream into reality.

VERY IMPORTANT: If we remember the story of Woobakwa and the archetype of Genshin's stories from chapter 2 and the main characters we already defined, then we will realize the end of these stories often talks about how these characters fight together against the wicked mage. An alliance with the evil dragon, with the knight, or with both. The final fight of the story is everyone agaisnt Woobakwa.

MOST VITAL POINT OF THE THEORIES: The final fight of Genshin will be everyone, possibly including the HP (and Nibelung's reincarnation?), agaisnt ascended Hroptatyr.

The sinner will be only one step away of completing his artificial god. A final fight to save both the universe and our sibling.

If Hroptatyr wins, he fuses with the Heavenly Principles (I wouldn't be surprised if the Rhinedottir-Naberius situation was an experiment of his to see if this was possible). He becomes the perfect artificial god.

The full power of reason. The full power of the abyss. The devotion of New Kaenriah in the purple abyss, in the ¨truth¨. And his purified body fused with our sibling.

He becomes the writer. Not of Teyvat, but of the whole universe. Abyss destroys reason.

Creation and destruction fuse in harmony.

The whole universe gets instantly erased for then being ¨recalculated¨ or ¨recreated¨ into the infinite and boundless ¨truth¨. The purple abyss. The world Hroptatyr and Vedrfolnir so desired. The ¨Age of Enlightment¨ described in The Devil XV begins.

The ultimate craft of Hroptatyr as the ¨ruler beyond reason¨.

The world shall welcome the birth of the Ruler Beyond Reason

CONCLUSION OF THE POSTS: Our final mission will be stop him, with the help of the HP (and maybe Nibelung's reincarnation) from reaching the last step of his evolution: his coronation.

The end of Genshin Impact.

THE MESSAGE BEHIND GENSHIN IMPACT

Well now, before starting this final section of the posts, I want to thank already to anyone who has made the effort of reading this much!

We will elaborate a conclusion out of this, not about Hroptatyr's and Vedrfolnir's plan directly, but a conclusion about Genshin Impact as whole.

A god who creates and sustains... an abyss who destroys and consumes... humans born as sinners, yet perfect to the eyes of sinners... represion to those who grow beyond control... a world that points and exclude the ones who step forward... a dying universe... the allegory of the stories... the descenders as readers...

The conclusion seems clear.

Genshin Impact is a story about growing up.

In fact, every good story is. A good story always has a hidden message within, a conclusion. Each story, the cycles of Teyvat, each experiment, is an attempt of the characters of growing up. A message to try and ¨experiment¨ in real life. Each cycle holds the same plot and the same characters, yet with different outcomes. Experimenting is a way of growing up. Each story is an experiment for the Traveler to grow up.

Genshin Impact's story is an experiment, an experience, for the player to understand its conclusion and use it to grow up.

  • A god who creates and sustains, the Heavenly Principles, represents the instinct to preserve and protect ourselves when facing the world.
  • The abyss who destroys and consumes, Hroptatyr, represents the instinct to destroy ourselves and grow when facing the world.

None are inherently correct.

  • Only preserving, fearing what could happen, leads us to stillness. The HP embodies this concept.
  • Only destroying, losing ourselves in the process, leads us to emptyness. Hroptatyr embodies this concept.

The real balance and the real message of Genshin on how to grow up is to learn from both at the same time.

  • Imposing preservation is authoritary.
  • Imposing growth is authoritary.

Both the HP and Hroptatyr are correct, but they are radicals. One fears growth and creates limits the other embraces growth and destroys limits.

The purple abyss, the ¨truth¨, the realm not bound by rules, represents the truth of the real world. Not allowing others to see the truth of the world is as bad as forcing them to see it.

People get corrupted inside the realm of reason because they fear facing the truth of the world, they were created like that. Every being, every person who gets corrupted by the abyss is a failed attempt to create a god.

A god who fuses abyss and reason, is a matured person. Maybe the step that the people who get corrupted by the abyss lack, is people's beliefs, believing in themselves.

  • The realm of reason represents the comfort zone. This comfort zone ¨creates¨ us.
  • The abyss represents the problems we face up while growing up. These problems ¨destroy¨ us.

Then when facing reality we are meet with a blank book. The truth is, that a blank book can be anything, right? Because the readers, descenders, the players, have the power to create everything from nothingness.

We, the players, are capable of writting our own story.

The dying universe is an allegory that some day we will be forced to grow up wether we want it or not.

Hroptatyr is the perfect main villain for the game. Why not Vedrfolnir? Because Vedrfolnir stopped growing. While Hroptatyr in his quest to seek infinite knowledge never stopped growing, Vedrfolnir was so afraid of fate that he stopped his own story.

Hroptatyr is gluttony and Vedrfolnir, sloth. Antagonic sins to eachother. But both aligned by the same plan and goals. A prophet is scared of the future and a researcher, excited to face it.

This is partially what I meant when I said in chapter 1 that Vedrfolnir had the same mentality as the HP, yet opposite goals.

The main villains of Genshin are the two sinners whose sins are lessons on how to grow up.

Remember the ¨Thrilling Tales of the Dragon Slayers¨ book we talked about in chapter 2?

¨A poorly written story on the importance of not making mistakes¨

The lifes of the sinners are lessons for others to learn not to make their mistakes. Rerir's story was a lesson already.

The sinners are the most human characters of the game. In a world were growth is controlled by a god who is scared of the abyss, humans point at the ones who grow further than what it's permitted.

They are called heretics, blasphemers, sinners... and yet they are the purest humans. Their mistakes are stories for the readers to grow up.

They are villains not because they're wrong, but because they're obsessed radicals. Or at least that's how the game show them.

Humans never stop growing.

In a world where artificial intelligences and dragons can manipulate reality, where monsters, machines, witches and mytical creatures roam free...

The first and final villain of the game is just a human. A human who grew taller than the heavens themselves.

  • Hroptatyr represents human growth, of the character.
  • The traveler represents human growth, of the player.

Two sides of the same coin. The hero and the wicked mage.

Hroptatyr is the sin of gluttony, the never ending growth, and the perfect villain of Genshin Impact. He experiments. He tries and tries and tries. His words not mine:

¨My success is just a product of hard work and good luck¨

You could say this is a lie to hide his manipulative skills but me personally, I believe here he is telling the truth. He is arguebly the human who has worked/will work the most for his goals in the entire game.

I already said this in chapter 1, but let's remember that, the abyss and the descenders are the greatest experimentators of Genshin's universe. One erases, the others write. They are the reason behind the cyclic nature of Teyvat, the reason why Teyvat is a world filled with stories.

I already defined Hroptatyr as the ¨Will of the Abyss¨ (the red and pure abyss) in previous chapters, but that does mean he is as much of a witness of the world as we are.

Both Hroptatyr and the Traveler have heard/will hear all the stories of the world.

This is why it seems illogical to think that Hroptatyr will make our sibling or another entity ascend, because him ascending would be the last step of his gluttony, of his never ending growth.

The last step of his maturity. A human completing his growth.

THE END

This last section is a message for the reader to realize the importance not only of Hroptatyr but of every villain in a story:

Now one last thing before saying goodbye. I'd like to go back to the title of these posts and why I chose this ¨Hroptatyr is the true writer of Genshin¨ idea.

Someone could think it is because this ascention we've been talking about. Him becoming the new writer of the story, the god of truth and the Ruler Beyond Reason. But it's way more simple than that.

Hroptatyr is the reason why the story of Genshin is being told.

Without him, the story wouldn't happen. Dragons and humans would live peacefully and maybe the traveler would figure out a way of dealing with the death of the universe.

A story without conflict is not worthy of being told. Why? Not because peace and happiness is boring, but because only through facing conflict can someone grow up.

Hroptatyr represents the power of the red abyss, ¨The Will of the Abyss¨, the power of destruction. He is our conflict inside Genshin.

Villains are characters meant not only for the protagonist, but for the reader to learn and to grow up.

He is the true writer of Genshin, because he is the character why the story happens to begin with, the character why the story begins and why it ends.

  • And if Dottore truly is one of his segments, then this gives the notion of being ¨the alpha and the omega¨ a complete different meaning. Dottore was the first Genshin villain shown via webtoon, before the game even released. Hroptatyr will be the last Genshin villain.

And maybe, since Hroptatyr's life should be the ultimate lesson on how to grow up, maybe Hoyoverse goes into a direction I personally find incredibly beautiful:

The villain of a story is the kindest of their characters. They sacrifice themselves, they become the evil character, wearing a laughing mask to cover their faces. They are hated by the audience, despised by other characters. They are alone.

And yet they sacrifice themselves so every other character can have a story worthy of being told. And yet they sacrifice themselves so every other character and every reader can grow up from the lesson the actions of a villain are meant to teach. So I wonder:

When everyone is cheering for the hero, the dragon, the knight and the princess, celebrating the defeat of the mage and booing him, will the mage smile?

Will the heart of the mage be proud of the ending of the story he wrote?

Maybe his story wasn't meant for those who are good at living.

Hoyoverse has the tools to create a perfect pure evil yet tragic villain.

Maybe the universe where Hroptatyr is the villain is the only one where they manage to avoid its death.

Who knows. We won't know anything about him for a long time.

And excuse me for making this last part of the posts, I felt like it was necessary to express these thoughts :)

So here it ends! If you had the patience to read through ALL 3 posts then thank you so so much, really.

If you are here and haven't interacted with the rest of the posts, then I'm happy you could read the conclusion of this little story I'm today presenting to you!

This is my experiment for the readers.

(And of course, if you feel like some points are still unclear for you or you wanted to read more, I'd encourage to read both chapter 1 and chapter 2)

Anyways, as I said if you have something to add to the theories or something that could discard any of these, I'd love to hear your opinion! Orienting these thoughts with the help of others is the best way of finding the truth. So I'll make sure to read everyone.

Until then, bye bye!

And remember

You, the reader, the player, are the descender

You can write your own story

Make sure it's beautiful.
