Autism and cultural differences

Social Struggles

I have a weird question for any autistic black people and/or African Americans. Do you feel culturally affected or isolated by autistic traits ever?

I noticed recently that sometimes I will see posts on social media about “white” things or even just “non black” things, that I feel like are kind of autistic traits.

Being socially clueless, not ‘noticing’ certain things, preferring blander foods, that type of stuff.

I’m not trying to be insulting to anyone, or project anything, I definitely am not trying to start any kind of racial debate, but I’m just curious if this is something that has affected any autistic black people before when you see something like that, or if it would. If you think it is funny, if it makes you sad or annoyed. Not really looking for any particular answer just real perspectives.

Also feel free to share your experience and feelings if you are a different race but have encountered something similar. I once saw a joke about this girl not being a ‘real Indian’ (made by someone who I assume was also Indian?) because she didn’t like spicy food, so I’m sure there are different variations of this.

Also if you live somewhere other than the US, is this still a thing???

I have no natural understanding of social or racial or cultural dynamics, (not even my own, probably the autism) and find myself very curious about it.

Very sorry if I worded anything wrong.
