Standard seems...expensive...

Been tossing up the idea of other formats outside of EDH. I like standard as a design space but it seems crazy to keep up with and my money is mortgage money these days.

Is there a cheap way to get into it?

Or is it to the pauper mill for me?

P.s. I dont hate pauper im already looking into it but just asking the question for more info
