56% player getting out-smarted by 48% players? Asia server

I mainly play breakthrough heavy tanks like the KR-1 (55.5% wr for kr1 in 1k+, overall 53.5%). I get sniped and outsmarted by stealthy enemies that always predict my push attempts, but these snipers often turn out to be 48% tomatoes. In my own team, I often die early and my teammates play very carefully and admittedly better than me, with full HP, dealing loads of damage--- also 48% players. These 48% players (on both teams) play very smart and punish me hard (I get punished by both enemies and allies by trying to make any active play), but their DPG and WR are both lower than me somehow, even the survival rate is often worse despite the passive and waitful playstyle.

Like, how are they so smart as to exploit every enemy (and teammate) mistake and still be 48%? Admittedly I am much LESS aware of getting free damage than these players, and when I try to mimic their playstyle (defensive, waitful, aware of free damage opportunities, not moving otherwise), my win rate also goes down and DPG doesn't change. Like why am I getting frequently outplayed by worse players, and if I try to learn from them, I also get worse instead of better? I just don't understand why these players, despite being super aware and very "smart" (like in a passive-smart way), still have 48% win rates...
