How do I get started with video editing?

I've ALWAYS wanted to work with video editing, but unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about it. I have a PC and would like to learn, but I don't know if I should buy a course, watch video lessons on YT, or just dive into an editor and study. Help me, please!
