Police delaying tatkal verification for passport.

I am in Kolkata. Submitted docs in passport seva kendra on 10th. Today I contacted the police. They said it will take time. They r doing takal verification of people who submitted 1 month ago. I said that I submitted under tatkal. He said , websites can say anything. But we are busy. Many files pending. So it will take time. My flight is on 24th. I think I am screwed now.
