A habit from practice tests that didn’t work on test day
During my TOEFL preparation, I developed a habit of rushing through the reading section to save time for speaking and writing. This strategy seemed effective in practice tests, where I felt confident finishing early. However, on the actual test day, this approach backfired because I missed important details and had to guess answers, which lowered my score. I realized that balancing speed with careful reading was more important than just finishing quickly. Adjusting my pace to focus on comprehension rather than speed helped me improve in later practice sessions. Have you experienced a strategy that worked in practice but failed during the real exam?
