Can I prescribe meds during an APE

I’m a new to moonlighting. Currently doing APEs . Had a patient with super high BP (200/140) but no symptoms during the exam.

Is it okay to start meds in this situation? Or should I just refer/follow up?

Would love to hear how you guys handle stuff like this — still figuring out what’s safe vs overstepping.
