How do you do Protection charms on necklaces?

I’m VERY new to witchcraft, like I’ve been researching stuff for maybe a month or so, but I have a necklace that I wear everyday and I want to know what kind of protection charms might be good to use on it or just experiences people have have had with putting charms on jewelry in general, I’d love to learn more!
