Looking to share: in-game guild activities

Our guild is a tight-knit group of people who really enjoy hanging out in WoW, but not necessarily always want to raid, do dungeons, or other more regular WoW content.

Especially when the raid is cleared or the season ends, there’s often a decline in interest for that type of content. At the same time, we still do want to hang out, which means we hang on discord while idling in a capital, or do our farm routes.

I’ve been coming up with some few activities in WoW where we gather in a group and do things a little outside of the normal WoW scope and people have been really enjoying this, which is great!
A few examples of what we did:

We had a murder mystery night, where the group had to figure out who killed our mage when he fell to his death off the highest tower in Dornogal. A “whodunnit” tailored especially for the characters in our guild. Without spoiling who did it, and why, I can just mention that the rogue was spotted buying DPS potions in bulk on the black market after the mage made fun of his DPS. There were also hints of a love triangle between the ret pala, the mage, and the hunter. Was this pure jealousy? Or was it the tank who got mad because he was consistently teased for using the one-button rotation?

The other night we did a “Catch me if you can” event, where teams competed with eachother to identify which NPC they needed to catch, to then physically go there, make a screenshot to prove they were all there, and gather points in different categories. It was a fun night with a little lore, a lot of traveling, and some creative solutions getting to places fast.

We always have small rewards, for example some toys or pets, or even a mount for the winners, but mostly it’s about being a community in WoW when the regular go-to content is getting a little stale.

Why am I posting this here? Well, these events are great fun but they also take a lot of time to come up with, test (can everyone see this NPC? are the hints too difficult? etc) and I suspect there are others who organize similar events for their guilds and communities.

So! I am here, looking for you who does similar event things for your community, and are willing to share/trade these ideas. If you’ve never created anything yourself but you’re interested in what I have so far, that’s cool too! If you have any ideas on what we could do, but no interest in actually seeing it through yourself, hit me up!
