Education and experience for Advanced Medical Support Assistant job

Hi all! just curious what educational background and experience do you have as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA)? I have a friend currently working as an academic advisor at a University looking to work at the VA as an AMSA. He has a Master’s degree but no previous experience in the healthcare field.
