Obtaining CAN citizenship while holding a clearance job in U.S.

Does anyone have any experience with this topic as posted? I know that with a secret clearance an already held second citizenship isn’t a problem, however seeking one might be. Regardless we will still continue the process for my mom who is G2, but it’s a bit of a bummer to not get to apply with her, for me. Just looking to hear anyone’s similar stories or success, failure, or even being told no by your security office.
