Don't know how to proceed. Counselor says I can only get job placement
I applied for VR&E and the counselor hasn't been bad and has given good advice and such. My only gripe is that she is really adamant that the only path I can do is get help with job placement/search because I have a degree and a job(the degree isn't directly related to the job I have now, degree is in Cybersecurity but I work as an Infrastructure engineer).
Due to some of my service connected disabilities I can't long due to back issues, staring at screen caused causes certain flare ups, etc. I wanted to go down the path of getting more training towards being a consultant rather than just a regular degular engineer of sorts. Reason being is more freedom on hours(there's days where I'm completely out of it), can take longer breaks to avoid headaches, etc.
The issue with just job placement is that, my experience is more geared around Infra engineering, job placement would more than likely place me in a similar role and struggle with the same things. Meanwhile IT consulting is more flexible but requires more training than what I have now.
How should I tackle this?
tl;dr: Counselor says only job placement is the only option; Majority of the roles I have experience in would still cause me the same issues; want to move more towards IT consultant/ IT sales.
