Why do people want Dawn's Buneary to evolve into Lopunny? And is anyone else happy she didn't evolve?

Personally, I'm glad she didn't evolve because it would be too weird to watch her interact with others. As you know Lopunny is a very controversial pokemon and I'm confused why people want Dawn's Buneary to evolve. She is just so cute with her design and I liked her crush on Pikachu, if she did evolved into Lopunny it would have been really weird and uncomfortable watching her interact with him when they're together. What do you think?
