VALENTINE RUINED SUCCESSFULLY

I am 17 years old. Today, I went out with my girlfriend. Everything was completely fine until around 11 AM. After that, a group of boys probably from Rajasthan Technical University came up to us and started harassing us for no reason.They began saying things like, “You people are ruining the country,” and told us to leave. My girlfriend felt uncomfortable and upset, so she suggested that we go somewhere else. We quietly left without creating any scene.

But they followed us again. They started asking if our families knew about our relationship and threatened to inform them. I tried to stay calm and asked what the actual problem was, but they kept creating drama and trying to make a public spectacle.

Thankfully, when some people gathered around, an uncle stepped in and asked them, “What do you have to do with these kids?” After that, they finally calmed down. I’m really grateful to that uncle for standing up for us.

I’m posting this because I genuinely want to ask in this country, can two people not even talk peacefully anymore? Especially if they are of the opposite gender? It’s been 78 years of independence. Are we still going to moral policing young people for simply talking and spending time together?

Respect, freedom, and basic decency should not be optional
