Why your gym clothes smell like absolute death the second you start sweating
I see so many people on here trying to use scent boosters to cover up gym smells but those things are actually a trap. Scent boosters just coat the bacteria in wax and lock the stink inside instead of actually cleaning it. Synthetic fabrics basically love body oil so regular detergent just washes the surface while the deep stuff stays trapped. The moment you get warm at the gym that bacteria wakes up and you end up smelling like a swamp five minutes into your set.
Stop using fabric softener entirely because it just creates a barrier that keeps the smell from leaving the fabric. You need an enzyme cleaner like a sports wash or even a pet urine spray because enzymes literally eat the sweat proteins that the bacteria feed on. If you are on a budget just soak your gear in vinegar for thirty minutes before the wash to break down the oils. It is way cheaper than buying fancy beads and actually fixes the problem.
