Parking tips for Middle Tennessee State Univ Blue Raiders Womens Basketball vs. Kennesaw State Owls Womens Basketball at Murphy Center (Murfreesboro 02/14)
figured i'd share some thoughts for anyone heading to the lady raiders game on 02/14 since parking at mtsu can be a headache, especially with it being valentine's day too. the murphy center is a classic spot but the lots right around it get jammed up fast when there is a crowd.
honestly, i'd check out Prked first. you can find people renting out their driveways or private spots right next to the murphy center for way cheaper than the official event lots. it's a great way to skip the campus traffic mess and just have a short walk to the glass house without worrying about getting boxed in or dealing with the post-game gridlock.
if you decide to try the campus lots, the greenland drive lot is the main one right by the arena. for women's games, they usually have some public parking available but a lot of the closer spots are reserved for braa members and donors who have specific permits. if you do not have a pass, you might get steered toward the lots further down greenland drive or across middle tennessee boulevard. just be careful because mtsu parking enforcement is notoriously strict about fire lanes, grass parking, and reserved spots even on weekends and holidays.
traffic on middle tennessee blvd and greenland drive is usually pretty slow right before tip-off, so try to get there at least 30 to 45 minutes early if you want a decent spot in the public sections. if the main lots look full, sometimes you can find space over by the student union or the library lots, but that's a much longer hike to the entrance. stay away from the residential streets across from campus because the city will ticket you fast if you are parked illegally. also, keep an eye out for any specific event signage near the alcorn grounds as they sometimes shift traffic patterns for basketball games. hope this helps and go blue raiders.
