When to close NRE account after moving to India? What about repatriations of funds to India?

Hello, I moved back to India about a year ago. Most of my liquid assets are still in the US to take advantage of tax free growth in equities during RNOR status.

However, my CA here recommended that it's easier to repatriate funds into NRE account for taxation purposes. Even after my RNOR status ends in about 13 months, I plan to keep a significant amount of funds abroad and repatriate them as needed for expenses.
What would be a good way to do so for ease of tax filings ?
