I made a mistake and I need help.

This is hard for me to post, but I want to be honest because I can’t bring myself to tell my parents.

I am a senior high school student here in the Philippines and I made a bad decision and lost over 10k pesos (around 170usd) in gambling in the span of a week, mostly slots. I am not proud of it and I am not making excuses. It all started with me depositing 100 pesos, and I played slots until it got up to around 20k pesos (around 340usd), and I squandered it back to 0, and that just fed my dopamine rush, and I kept depositing and depositing until I essentially burned my wallet. Mind you, all my 6k pesos that I saved was gone, and that other 4k? that was money given to me by my to pay for supplies for school, yes, I am still a student. I just turned 18 back in January which is partly the reason why I tried online casinos, because I was now allowed to.

What hurts the most here is not losing the money, of course that still stings, but disappointing and breaking the trust of my parents. I’ve been a consistent honor student my whole life, and my parents always financially supported me, I wouldn’t say we are a rich family but we are a stable one. We could afford a lot but our parents just refuses to because money is valuable to them. They’d rather spend it on necessities and not on vacations and all that.

Now, I don’t want to sound desperate but I want to ask for help, even just to have back the money I lost from my parents. I would also be willing to sell my remaining Amazon gift card balance on my Amazon account, it has 25.92usd in my account, and I cannot use it to order anything to my country because shipping is too expensive so it’s no use. If you are not able to help, I completely understand. I just appreciate you taking the time to read this.
