Commercial pilot program

Im wondering if there are any prerequisites needed before the discovery flight or, any suggestions/recommendations before taking the discovery flight?

Also a relative is staying and taking the summer semester to get their pilots license, and would like to get a job at the airport (front desk, janitorial, maintenance, menial work in the tower, answering phones, greeting people setting up tours, customer service etc..) does anyone have any suggestions how to go about possibly getting a job at the airport? I understand you must apply online but, is there any suggestions to help their chances at getting a job there over the summer, while working towards their pilot license?

Sorry, if that is all a bit redundant
