When can I put an offer in?

Hi. I'm in the process of getting a divorce. My ex is buying me out of the marital house and I intend to use those funds as approx 60% of the "cash" payment on a place of my own.

However I'm unlikely to see this money till approx June when the court etc has settled everything.

Given the above how soon can I put an offer in on somewhere?

Ie will an offer be accepted on the basis of my being able to evidence the other 40% as well as the paperwork showing I'm in line for the rest?

Or will an offer not be considered until all the cash is sat in my bank account?
