Parking tips for Catz N Dogz at Club Vinyl (Denver 02/14)
figured i would share some thoughts on the parking situation for catz n dogz at club vinyl on 02/14. since it is valentine day and a club night the golden triangle area is going to be absolutely packed and finding a spot is usually a huge headache.
honestly the best move is to check out Prked first. it is an app where you can rent driveways or private garage spots from people living right by the venue. it is way cheaper than the commercial lots and you get to skip all the traffic congestion on lincoln and broadway when the show lets out. it is just a short walk and feels way more secure than leaving your car in a random alley.
if you decide not to use Prked you can try for street parking on the side streets like 11th or sherman but be careful. most meters in denver are free after 10 pm but finding an open one on a saturday night like 02/14 is basically like winning the lottery. plus you have to be really careful about the signs because towing is super aggressive around there and they will grab your car the second you are parked illegally.
there are a few pay lots right on lincoln and broadway but they are usually a ripoff on event nights. expect to pay anywhere from twenty to forty dollars for a flat rate. the lot directly behind the club fills up fast and is a total nightmare to exit because everyone tries to leave at the same time. if you do use a public lot make sure you do not leave anything visible in your car. denver has had a lot of issues with window smashings in the golden triangle lately so keep your stuff hidden or just leave it at home.
traffic is also going to be a mess since lincoln is a one-way street heading south and broadway is one-way heading north. give yourself plenty of extra time to circle the blocks if you are looking for street spots. if you get there right at 10 pm you might get lucky but honestly earlier is better if you are trying to save money. hope this helps and have a blast at the show.
