Life Reflection and Experiences

So I read an artical today by someone who recently retired and was depressed to the point of crying because they didn't feel they did anything in their life to this point. How do you feel as you approach retirement?

I played organized soccer, hockey, and baseball as a youngster. I camped, rode dirt bikes and water skied every summer as a teen. I worked 2 jobs during highschool across the summers and had my 1st sexual experiences.

I worked a few years and traveled to the beach before joining the military. I started my career and traveled the world, East and West Asia and Europe. I had been recognized through out my life as an exceptional performer except during grade and high education. College was a different experience as a night and weekend student during my military years. I married and raised a child who is debt free and NOT living at home. We snow skied into back country cabins, downhill skied an Olympic Super G course, travelled to Hawaii multiple times and moved abroad temporarily to see our grandchild grow up.

After listing my brief life of living, I realized it has been pretty full. Of course I skirted over many things more tough and not so nice, but I think I have been extremely blessed with a good life.

I think you can always look for the bad things; the things you missed out on, but I feel the bad things make the good more rememberable, if that's a word. Along the way many people touched and enfluence my life and maybe that person that felt they didn't accomplish anything may have enfluenced my life and by doing so did change a lost teen into a focused goal setting person that would not have made the life they have without their help.

Thank you to all those who guided my life. You may not realize it but you set me up for success.
