[TOMT] Does anyone know about a comic/graphic novel about a guy with really bright red hair, and he goes on adventures like time travel?

In the comic/graphic novel, the main character has really bright red hair, and he is brought into the future by the humans already there because of some catastrophe that only he can stop. While he is in the future, the humans who brought him there mention that he is credited with discovering Atlantis along with some other feats, which is why they brought him instead of someone else. That might be a link to other volumes in the same series maybe, but I'm not sure. The main plot of the volume I read did not involve his adventures in Atlantis but rather the future. It's too bad I don't remember the actual plot unfortunately. I think he was also a doctor or something like that. Later in the comic near the middle/end he is trying to get home using the time machine and keeps randomly jumping to random times. for one moment he time jumps to a medieval-looking era and a knight sees him and calls him a red-haired devil because he just appeared and disappeared so suddenly. I believe he was also using a machine to time travel, rather than a spell or a portal or something else. I think the graphic novel had darker themes, instead of being light-hearted or adventurous. I read it from a library almost 14 years ago (anywhere from 2006 to 2012), but the graphic novel could be older than that. The comic was in English, but I'm not sure if it was American or from somewhere else. Although I did read it from a library in America, if that is helpful. I remember these details about the comic, but I can't pinpoint more important details like the guy's name or the comic's title. I will update if I remember something else. I am sorry it's so little, but please try to help with this limited information. I've been trying to find it for a few years now but to no luck :(
