Returning Player PD2 or D2R?

With the new warlock update and all the quality of life changes that it has bought, is project Diablo to still a better choice over Diablo 2 resurrected. Does it still offer some better quality of life or endgame content? Diablo 2 resurrected?

I used to play Diablo 2 many years ago but unfortunately I've lost my keys so we'll need buy again regardless. Don't really have time to play both games so keen to get opinions on which is currently the best to play.
