How are you supposed to react to this

My eye's waterline has developed a pimple or stye about three weeks ago, probably because I was being a little too passionate about applying white kajal on it. There is no pain the shape seems consistent.

I've tried applying a compress with warm water soaked in camomile tea for 20 minutes for three consecutive days, didn't change anything either.

I know I could be doing more, but due to the stability of the protrusion I'm not too alarmed, plus, due to difficulties with public transport and work hours, most days I've currently got about 8 hours between shifts to eat, sleep and live a little, and assignments which take about 10 hours of concentrated work each weekend (for my work training). This will remain this way for the rest of February and is leaving me a tad drained.

Maybe I should be more alerted, because in 2019 I had a three-week struggle against acanthamoeba keratitis, now that shit was terrifying (and ultimately thankfully treated with multiple super aggressive eye drops). However, to me, knowing how bad an eye infection could really get signals to me how comparatively insignificant or non-threatening this one is (currently, anyway).

Now, consider someone close to me looking at me and expressing that they don't feel too well. After I, concerned, probe them for more information, they state, in an accusing tone: "It's just ...your eye, you're not doing anything to help it heal. Please go to the pharmacy as soon as possible and at least get some drops since you don't seem to trust in home remedies. I just don't understand, it would be so easy to cure and you're just not concerned about it at all! Consider that anytime I look at it I'm also concerned and worried it might stay..."

Know that I know this person obviously comes from a place of meaning well. Know that this person is also aware of my work hours and the level of stress they're causing me and that I did try with the compresses without noticing a change. This person is also aware of my antecedent eye infection.

When I was sober from alcohol for over half a year last year and spent time together with this person, they repeatedly encouraged me to "Have just one drink" and "Simply control myself", then first were happy when I did have a sip, but then accusing when I had more than a sip (over half a bottle of gin in a few hours). They still have occasional bouts of saying that maybe I should drink again and why I can't just "control myself". (I am now unwavering in defending the fact that I can't drink because I'm an alcoholic.)

This is leaving me wonder whether for them genuine care about my well-being or the urge to control the way I prioritize aspects related to my health is in the foreground of their worries.

They themselves react allergically to criticism or their ways being questioned, when I asked them why they didn't want to aim for a decent job in the future, they mentioned being too stressed by and afraid of competition and that their position as an immigrant was uniquely, especially disadvantageous on the job market. I told them they should try "Simply controlling their fear" to which they responded with outrage and later the silent treatment (later obviously explained that I was merely trying to make them see what their treatment feels like).

Now, not having responded to their statement yesterday at all, they have also withdrawn, to another room.

Last but not least, consider that I am living with this and married to this person.
