Discord Account "Hacked" (trust me it's weirder than that)

Over the years I have had my fair share of friends who have clicked links and had their accounts hacked because they entered their passwords on the fake discord sites and all of that, so I knew if I got a message from a random person, or even a friend that seemed suspicious, to not click any links or anything. Well, I was stupid today. I get a friend request from a rando from a server, it was a language learning server so I'm kind of used to that from that server, randos asking me for language exchange and whatnot. I thought what the hell and accepted it, they messaged me "hi hru" with nothing else included in the message at all, and my response was "more like who are you" and then IMMEDIATELY my discord logs out and I get an email from support saying my account has been compromised. How in the world did this happen? No matter where I go I keep seeing sources that say that I have to click a link or download a file to get my account compromised like that, but this wasn't any of those things. I literally just replied to a message. I quickly changed my passwords everywhere and was able to get my discord account back, but as an unknowledgable person in IT or Cyber Security I am not feeling very safe at the moment. Could they have access to my PC? private files? is there more going on here that I don't know? I'm fairly certain I don't have a RAT because I still have access to windows security and all of that, but I'm definitely going to sleep with my PC fully shut down tonight.
