I messed up

Question

Looking for as much brutal honesty and advice that can be offered in regards to this. For context in 2022 my credit has always been kinda dicey, high credit utilization and high balances on my credit cards. Always paid on time and had all my cards a for a very long time. I paid off a large loan around this time and my credit shot up and I got crazy offers in the mail. I got four, yes four Amex cards in a span of two years. I received the Amex Marriott Brilliant, Hilton, Gold and another I can’t recall. I use them all the time and I never made crazy money but working two jobs helped me pay my debts. At some point in 2023 I lost a job that was a substantial amount of my income, I tried everything to make payments but unfortunately fell short and after a few months my cards were closed by Amex. I fell into a pretty deep rut and depression trying to bounce back for about a year and a half. So despite Amex’s multiple attempts to work with my to deal with my problems in house, they moved to debt collection and etc. I’m not concerned about the debt collection or the pending lawsuit as I’m working on paying back what I owed. I want to know what are my chances of ever being able to be allowed to reapply for American Express again in the very very distant future and what options I have to possibly repair that relationship? Also I was about 29 when I got the cards and I’m 32 now, please provide helpful information and not all criticism.
