Please explain this years draft- why it's talked about so differently
I am a religious follower of the NBA and usually don't get into college basketball until around March or if there's some great prospects. This year I haven't gone down the rabbit hole of prospects mostly because hoop intellect doesn't do it anymore lol. Regardless I keep hearing NBA podcasters talk about this draft like there's 7 or 8 all stars in it, and at least 4-5 franchise guys. So please break this down for me and what I'm missing. From what I've seen in just a little deep diving, I don't see anybody that I'm comfortable saying will be better than cooper flagg so far.....
.
I have only seen a little bit of the top 4. In that viewing I see Darren Peterson as the run away best prospect, and truly a special offensive player. However I have seen the reports of him sitting out of games and being a sometimes player. I have no idea the validity of this but that scares me. We've seen Ben Simmons and DeAndre ayton have all the gifts and talent in the world, and not care. So I'm a little scared of him.
.
Cam boozer also looks to profile like a alperen senguin or domantis sabonis player. I have no doubts he'll be around and probably an all star for a while, but I see a tweener who might not hold up defensively at the very highest level.
Dyabonsta- massive, gifted, forceful. Seen some of his clips and it's wildly impressive. However, I've also heard he's got really bad off ball defensive, poor basketball IQ and a motor that's not always on. Also scares me.
.
Please tell me what I'm missing in these guys and the other potential standouts. I've heard there's a lot of great scoring guards as well. Pretty much just want a breakdown and a discussion on why this top 10 or top 15 is so much better than recent drafts. And don't just respond with watch the games. I will eventually get around to it lol
