Dating a man with TBI

I have been talking with a man from another state with a severe TBI from 6 years ago[ he was ran over by a semi while walking] we are really hitting it off and have been talking over video calls for hours at a time. From what I can see his main issues are speech, balance [ he needs a cane] & short term memory. He states he was planning on moving to my state with friends before we started talking. I cant help but wonder the accuracy of that statement, especially combined with the desire to meet. What is everyone's experience with dating someone new with a TBI? thoughts? Advice? My friends and family are also concerned about me becoming caregiver, as he cannot drive atm
