Major tailwind for Capital Markets from RBI!

Discussion

The Reserve Bank of India has updated its Capital Market Exposure rules — and it could be significant for equities.

Key changes:

  • Loans allowed against shares, MFs, ETFs, REITs & InvITs
  • 60% LTV on stocks
  • 75% LTV on MFs/ETFs/REITs/InvITs
  • 85% LTV on debt MFs
  • ₹1 crore per borrower cap
  • ₹25 lakh for IPO/FPO/ESOP funding

This could pull crores of new investors into markets — more liquidity → more participation → more growth.
India’s financialisation story just strengthened 🇮🇳📈

Do you see this as a growth catalyst… or rising leverage risk?
