Don't do what I stupidly did lol
I have a Pixel 10 Pro. Was looking around the app battery usage page where I saw the settings app. The disable button was greyed out but it's still very possible to click slightly below it and get a prompt to disable it. I was gonna factory reset soon anyways because I wanted to fix some other issues I've had since version 16 came so I got curious, but this made me panic lol.
Nothing works if it's disabled. Every type of option to reset app settings and resetting the phone stops working. Neither Gemini or the search bar could guide me to the page to reset stuff.
I tried even the fastboot recovery but it simply could not go into fastboot. The screen just turned into grey static and restarted normally. Safe mode didn't bring it back either. Pulling down the quick options and pressing the cog wheel didn't work, going through help to hopefully find a deeplink into recovery didn't work either. I couldn't go to any app to reset app data to perhaps force it back.
I couldn't get into the developer settings and neither did trying to completely uninstall play services. All recovery options are basically gone if settings is gone. What I got lucky with is the remote wiping device through the find hub on my laptop.
I'm guessing meddling with adb could work too but that I'm not good at. The settings app was greyed out so I definitely didn't expect it to be so easy to quickly almost brick your device lol. I know it's my fault because I was messing around. But a fair warning to anyone else!
